I had to banish the poor BMW from the garage for a while because I needed the space. However, for renovating an old car, it is not harmful to have some literature. The Owners Workshop Manual by Haynes is the most popular on the internet, so I decided to get one. I found a lot of copies abroad, but fortunately there was a used one for sale on the Vatera, a Hungarian e-market. The postman has already arrived with it. I think the „BMW 1500, 1502, 1600, 2000 Touring, 1602 & 2002 Owners Workshop Manual” will be very useful - I hope there will be fewer unpleasant surprises during the disassembly. And what's more: in this book I can find all the setting values.

I've delivered the Citroen ID estate car to its owner, so I was left without oldtimers – this was unacceptable. I'd heard that there was something interesting in Germany, so I went there and bought it. This was a BMW cabriolet – a real curiosity, as only less than 2000 pieces were made. It was in a disastrous condition. Actually I don't really know whether I have cut off more than I can chew, but I've always loved challenges. And the 1600-2 Cabrio is a real challenge.

I have been dealing with relocating the cars: the Mercedes is ready from the painters, and the Triumph has taken its place. Presumably they will fondle it for a few weeks before it can get its green colour. As for veteran cars there will be a little pause in the garage, until the “old whale" (the Mercedes Adenauer) arrives or I lower the Jaguar from the jack in order to continue the work.

I'm ready with the panel beating of the TR3 – the old car is totally healthy now. I have to wait for the body painters for a while, but – if everything goes according to plan, I can start the lengthy, tiresome process of preparing for the painting. Till then I'm looking forward to a unique piece of work again: a real rarity is coming to the garage soon.

I'm giving the finishing touches to the TR3, in the garage. I have to find the smallest bumps and flatten them fully, and also it's time to adjust the joints. After I had placed on the rear mudguard, the veteran Triumph gained its final shape. Of course, without the glossy paint and heaps of accessories (lamps, mouldings, handles, mirrors, etc.), laymen may see the classic beauty with some difficulty, but I'm sure the final result will be engaging.

Now I'm working on a Triumph TR3. I'm planning a total renovation – I disassembled the car and started with sandblasting. I gave a primer coat to the bare body freed from paint, bonding cement and rust, and then I started the panel beating.
